Letter from Pastor Search Committee - Update 03.19.20

Dear Church Family,

With the daily changes we are all experiencing due to coronavirus, the Pastor Search Committee (PSC) wanted to give you an update on the church’s efforts to bring Dr. Phillip Bethancourt before you in view of a call to be the next pastor of Central.  Schedules have been altered and changed during these unprecedented days, and we are striving to provide you more clarity as soon as possible.

Craig Scasta, Chairman of the Deacons, is developing an ad hoc committee consisting of members of the staff, PSC, and deacons.  They will be charged to look at the best schedule and way for the church to move forward since the original schedule for this weekend has been interrupted based on CDC recommendations for social distancing and no public gatherings of more than 10 people.

We desire for you to have the privilege of getting to know Phillip and Cami and feel his heart for the Lord, his compassion and vision for the people of Central, and his passion for the lost. We know you may have questions for Phillip and Cami.  The ad hoc committee will be looking for creative ways for you to be able to ask questions you may have and interact with them.

The PSC is excited to see the next chapter unfold. We remain as convinced as ever that God has answered the prayers of His church and brought us the man that He has prepared and called to Central for this moment in time.

We want to thank our fellow church members for the countless prayers and words of encouragement and support that you have given us over the last six months.

Lastly, with the difficulties and changing schedules, we want to encourage you to reach out to any of us if you have a question about Phillip or the process.  We would love to tell you more about how God has worked and will do our best to answer your questions.

Letter from Ministerial Staff - Update 03.13.20

Dear Central Family,

The health and safety of our church family and guests are of the utmost importance to our staff. Of course, we’ve been in constant prayer for wisdom and direction from the Lord (James 1:5). We’ve also been in close contact with community officials, medical experts, and other churches throughout our nation.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to move our Sunday morning service to an online experience for the next 2 Sundays, March 15 AND March 22.

In addition, ALL ministry activities at the church campus will be canceled through March 22.

We have a deep concern for the health and well-being of all of our people and, most specifically, our elderly population and those with additional health challenges. We are not making this decision out of fear or panic; we really do not feel either of those. We would rather make some short-term sacrifices in hopes of keeping people healthy so that we can quickly get to a place where the virus is adequately contained and get back to normal.
We are NOT canceling our services, but we ARE changing the location. Everyone is asked to participate in our church services online. Let’s use this time to maximize the Church's reach by inviting others to join our online service.
Online Sunday Service:
For the next 2 Sundays, please join us online either via Facebook or on our website at If you join us on Facebook, we encourage you to share it on your feed. If you watch on our website, consider inviting someone to join you by sending them the link. Gather your family in your living room and be ready to sing, to pray, to give, and to hear from God’s Word.

Even though we’re not gathering this weekend in-person for church, your support of the ongoing ministry of Central is vital. Please continue to make a difference in the lives of others by giving your tithes and offerings through our giving page: CLICK HERE.
After March 22:
Our staff will keep you up to speed every step of the way. We are hopeful that we can resume activities soon, but we will be consulting with the experts before making that decision. Keep an eye on your email, the website, and our social media for updates.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7 (ESV)

Let’s fix our eyes on the Father, taking everything to Him in prayer, trusting that He will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus! Let’s continue to demonstrate our devotion to the Lord and our love for people.
