Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15).
Awana is our Sunday night Bible study which runs from September to May for children 3 years old (by September 1, 2020) through 5th grade. Awana develops spiritually strong children who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. The program consists of three parts: Scripture memorization and application, a Bible lesson and fun.
CUBBIES // 3 years old–preK // Central Town Square, Preschool Wing
Cubbies celebrates the spiritual potential of kids 3 years old, as of Sept. 1, through 5 years old by helping them develop respect for God, His Son and His Word. At Story Time each week, kids learn about God — the greatness of His love and His Word — and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. Non-competitive games build excitement and reinforce Story Time lesson themes.
The Cubbies curriculum features two handbooks. The Appleseed and HoneyComb handbooks combine basic Scripture memory with parent-child activities to help Cubbies grasp simple biblical truths. One handbook is completed in a club year. Cubbies helps you lead your child to God early so your child will respect and trust Him for life.
SPARKS // K–2nd grade // Central Town Square, Outpost 2
Sparks ignites the curiosity of Kindergarten through 2nd grade kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. Each year, Sparks clubbers (Sparkies) explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of Scripture, memorize Bible verses, and complete handbook activities.
Sparks curriculum is comprised of three handbooks: HangGlider, WingRunner, and SkyStormer. Each handbook builds a foundation of biblical wisdom through memory verse drills, crafts, activities, and review of key doctrine and Bible facts. Before working in the first handbook, HangGlider, all newcomers to Sparks will complete an entrance booklet —Flight 3:16 — which centers on the gospel message of John 3:16. WingRunner and SkyStormer handbooks challenge Sparkies to learn about 15 more verses than preceding books.
T&T // 3rd–5th grade // Central Town Square, Outpost 2
T&T engages third through fifth graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ's grace. Kids in T&T learn that the Bible is true and they can firmly trust what it says. Through the T&T handbook, Evidence of Grace, kids continue to explore fundamental doctrines of Christianity. They will learn about the nature of God, structure and sequence of the Bible, redemption narrative and more.
This year you will have the option of choosing (1) in person [In-Person Registration has closed] or (2) virtual Awana @ Home. What will virtual Awana @ Home look like? The virtual Awana @ Home element gives you the ability to work with your kids through their lessons at a time that works best for you. Kids will still be able to earn their patches/awards by saying their verses, which will be sent in via video, and completing their books.
If you choose virtual Awana @ Home you must stick with this decision through the Fall (September–December). Those that choose in-person will be able to switch to virtual Awana @ Home if your family is exposed to or becomes sick with Covid19.
To create a safe environment for your child we use the KidCheck check-in/out system. To make your first visit a little smoother, please create your KidCheck account by clicking here.
