men

The Men's Ministry at Central provides opportunities for spiritual maturity in Jesus Christ by connecting men through events, discipleship, and service with a vision to see men grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ as husbands, fathers, and brothers in Christ through leadership of the Holy Spirit and guidance in the Word.

Discipleship Class

WEEKLY AUDIO & NOTES

This fall & spring we are offering a discipleship class, for men active at Central, taught by Pastor Chris Osborne. This 25-week commitment (two semesters) will deepen your personal understanding and application of Scripture and will be beneficial in discipling others. There will be weekly homework, and you will need to bring a Bible as well as something to take notes in class each week.

We are so thankful for the time you've invested learning from Pastor Chris. Now it's time to fulfill Matthew 28:19-20, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

NEXT STEP:
You are now prepared to cover this material with others. Let God lead you in deciding who and how.
WHO: Others that need to learn these truths. It could be an individual or a few men from your Life Group, work or an outside group.
HOW: Listen or Read through Pastor Chris' presentation of the material. Then discuss insights and practical application of the information.
WHEN & WHERE: A time and place that works for the individuals you want to reach. It could be breakfast, lunch, or evening gathering. Your favorite restaurant, shop, or living room.

Remember 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

DISASTER RELIEF

Disaster Relief Ministry is to provide ways for Christians to minister to people who are hurting due to disasters. We seek to provide organization, equipment, and strategy for committed volunteers to help affected individuals/families rebuild their lives and homes. We partner with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Disaster Relief program in aiding communities in Texas and the rest of the United States who have been directly affected by a natural disaster.

Disaster relief volunteers from CBC and SBTC churches across Texas respond in crisis situations, such as tornados, hurricanes, and fires. We offer trainings in order to equip our members to be ready to respond to a natural disaster. Our mission is to share God’s love through word and deed.  We work with various disaster organizations in order to achieve this goal such as the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army.

Central also has a group of men who are chainsaw trained through SBTC. We respond to needs in our community to cut down trees and remove fallen trees.

If you are interested in being a part of the chainsaw ministry or volunteering for disaster relief, please let us know by contacting   for more information.

NAIL POUCH MINISTRY

The Nail Pouch Ministry is a part of the Men’s Ministry of Central and serves members of Central who are not able to handle their own home repair and maintenance needs.  The needs of Central’s elderly, widows, physically challenged, and financially struggling will be considered. Other needs of the B/CS community are also considered.

WHO CAN BE A PART OF THE NAIL POUCH GANG?

Anyone, young or old, who is good with their hands, mechanically inclined, or just feels called to share in the fellowship and growth that comes from helping others.
Sign up HERE.

HOW ARE PROJECTS IDENTIFIED?

Individuals who have (or know someone who has) home repair or maintenance needs are encouraged to contact the church. As needs are identified, a member of the Nail Pouch Ministry will make contact to determine how to respond.

SPECIAL NEEDS MINISTRY

CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES:

------------------------------------------------------------

Special Helpers are the backbone of the Special Needs Ministry! Each of these individuals gives their time and love to each child, teen, and adult with special needs that come through our doors. Not only are they dedicated to these children, teens, and adults, but they are also diligent to learn more about disabilities. Each volunteer working in Special Needs is trained to understand the unique situations that may occur when working with individuals with disabilities: the importance of classroom routine, how to handle a verbal/physical/emotional concerns, how to use a multi-sensory approach to teaching, and everything in between! Various volunteer staff are trained and certified in CPI: Crisis Prevention Intervention in order to provide a safe and secure environment.

While our staff works to faithfully provide quality special needs programs, the success of the Special Needs Ministry depends on volunteers like you!
