Worship

Worship at Central is more than music, more than a gathering, more than brief moments together in a service. Worship at Central is a lifestyle that is lived out in spirit and truth with every opportunity presented.

Worship is offering all that I know of me to all that I know of Him. It reveals the inner heart and the recognized value that we place upon God in our lives. Worship is more than just something we do. It is an attitude that we carry with us day by day, an attitude of genuine praise to God. It is fueled by corporate worship, the times we gather together.

Worship Ministry

The Worship Choir at Central is a group of vocalists (middle schooler (with parent) and up) who lead the congregation each Sunday in musical worship. They meet for rehearsal in the choir room (located directly behind the stage of the Worship Center) each Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 pm, and each Sunday from 5:00-6:30 pm. Participants are only required to attend one rehearsal per week. The Worship Choir leads each Sunday morning during the Fall and Spring semester. Special events include seasonal concerts, pageants, church-wide fellowships and community concerts.

Our Central Worship Band is an auditioned group of instrumentalists who serve God and the Church with their incredible musical abilities. They meet each Wednesday for rehearsal from 7:00-8:30 pm in the Worship Center.

The Vocal Praise Team is a smaller, auditioned group that is selected from the membership of the Worship Choir. The Praise Team rehearses on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30pm and on Sunday mornings before worship services.

The Media Ministry provides audio/visual support for the Sunday morning service. Our goal is to help lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through technology by creating a dynamic environment for worship and effective communication.

Our team has several areas of focus including audio, lighting, video production and live production. Training is offered for all positions.

We invite all kids in Kindergarten through 5th Grade to come and be a part of this fun, exciting, and growing ministry! The kids are divided into 2 choir groups, and we rehearse each Wednesday evening in the Fall from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Children's Building. Kidz Praise has several opportunities to lead in worship throughout the season, including Sunday mornings, & special concerts. We’re excited to encourage your kids to worship the Lord with their voice!

Connections Ministry

“I was a stranger and you welcomed me” Matthew 25:35

Getting others connected is very important to the life and ministry of Central! Serving on one of our Sunday morning Connections Teams offers a great way to welcome and connect with others, especially newcomers. It truly is a dynamic expression of the inclusiveness of God’s love for all. For many it is a natural first step in serving and an easy way to enter into the life of the Central community. Volunteers typically serve once or twice a month depending on the volunteer position.

The primary role of the Greeter is to project Central’s friendliness to all who enter our campus. You are the first touch to our regular attenders and newcomers as you open the door for each person and greet them. Since first impressions are so critical, the Greeters are vital to Sundays at Central. Being a Greeter is a wonderful way to serve, get to know the Central church family, and help everyone who comes to our church feel God’s love among us.

The requirements for being a greeter are simple and few—a desire to serve, the ability to smile and say “hello,” and a time commitment of around six Sundays a year.

The primary role of the person who serves in the Information Desk is to greet guests, answer questions, provide information about our church, distribute gift bags, encourage guests to fill out the Connect Card, walk guests to their destination on campus, engage guests in conversation, and make guests feel welcomed. A rotating schedule is set so that the commitment is about once a month.

The primary role of the Host is to greet and get to know those in our church services. Serving in this role takes hospitality, a positive attitude, and an engaging heart. A rotating schedule is set so that the commitment is about once a month.

The primary role of a Parking Team Member is to serve as our very first impression to our congregation and our guests. The goal is to help visitors get closer parking and get them connected to our Greeters and Information Desk. This growing part of our ministry is a great place to start off volunteering! A rotating schedule is set so that the commitment is about once a month.

Central is in need of volunteers to work at our welcome center and serve as greeters on Sunday mornings. These volunteers answer questions, direct people to their groups and serve as the welcoming face of Central to newcomers. If interested contact Vanessa Astle at

Musicians Needed
Musicians Needed

The Worship Ministry is looking to bring on a few more band members – particularly those who can play drums, percussion, piano, and/or guitar. Pianists and guitarists need to be able to follow a lead sheet/piano sheet, know what chords are, and have some familiarity with multiple keys. Drummers and percussionists should be able to hear their part in the provided resources and translate that to the drum set and various percussion instruments, following along with the lead sheet. All should have availability on Wednesday evenings for band rehearsal. Email Vanessa at for more information.
