Worship

Worship at Central is more than music, more than a gathering, more than brief moments together in a service. Worship at Central is a lifestyle that is lived out in spirit and truth with every opportunity presented.

Worship is offering all that I know of me to all that I know of Him. It reveals the inner heart and the recognized value that we place upon God in our lives. Worship is more than just something we do. It is an attitude that we carry with us day by day, an attitude of genuine praise to God. It is fueled by corporate worship, the times we gather together.

There are opportunities for everyone in the Worship Ministry of Central! If you are interested in being a part of the worship team, please fill out the Worship Ministry Interest Form.

Worship Choir

The Worship Choir at Central is a group of adult vocalists (college and up) who lead the congregation each Sunday in musical worship. They meet for rehearsal in the choir room (located directly behind the stage of the Worship Center) each Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 pm, and each Sunday from 5:00-6:30 pm. Participants are only required to attend one rehearsal per week. The Worship Choir leads each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. worship experiences. Special events include seasonal concerts, pageants, church-wide fellowships and community concerts. For more information email Vanessa at

Worship Band

Our Central Worship Band is an auditioned group of instrumentalists who serve God and the Church with their incredible musical abilities. They meet each Wednesday for rehearsal from 7:00-8:30 pm in the Worship Center. If you play guitar, keyboard, piano, drums or percussion, we have a place for you to minister!

Vocal Praise Team

The Vocal Praise Team is a smaller, auditioned group that is selected from the membership of the Worship Choir. The Praise Team rehearses on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30pm and on Sunday mornings before worship.

Welcome Team

“I was a stranger and you welcomed me” Matthew 25:35

Welcoming others is very important to the life and ministry of Central! Serving on one of our Sunday Morning Welcome Teams offers a great way to welcome and connect with others, especially newcomers. It truly is a dynamic expression of the inclusiveness of God’s love for all. For many it is a natural first step in serving and an easy way to enter into the life of the Central community. Volunteers typically serve once or twice a month depending on the volunteer position.

The primary role of the Greeter is to project Central’s friendliness to all who enter our campus. You are the first touch to our regular attenders and newcomers as you open the door for each person and greet them. Since first impressions are so critical, the Greeters are vital to Sundays at Central. Being a Greeter is a wonderful way to serve, get to know the Central church family, and help everyone who comes to our church feel God’s love among us.

The requirements for being a greeter are simple and few—a desire to serve, the ability to smile and say “hello,” and a time commitment of around six Sundays a year.

The primary role of the person who serves in the Welcome Center is to greet guests, answer questions, provide information about our church, distribute gift bags, encourage guests to fill out the Connect Card, walk guests to their destination on campus, engage guests in conversation, and make guests feel welcomed. A rotating schedule is set so that the commitment is about once a month.

The primary role of the Usher is to greet people as they enter the worship service, hand out bulletins, help locate appropriate seating, and assist with the collection of the offering on Sundays. Ushers also help with special events and sometimes help in the parking lot.
